Beating Long Car Trip Boredom

This is what I make when I need my children to occupy themselves quietly (long car rides, during my doc. appt. etc.). I take a folder and hole punch a hole into it. Then use a shoe lace (or any heavy duty string) and attach a pencil with eraser. Put 8 or 9 crayons into a sandwich baggie and attach this to the outside with a stapler. Go on any free printable sites and print out coloring pages, connect the dots and word finds. Everything is kept together, nothing gets lost and the kids look forward to what new things they will find each time. Also you want to reserve these folders for special times only, or they lose their appeal if kids have all time access to them.
