Helping Baby to Fall Asleep with Comforting Sounds

I always made a note of sounds that comforted or excited my daughter. Then I would record them. When my daughter was
sleepy or irritable or if I needed to complete a task and could hold her; I simply played the recording. 95% of the time she would fall
asleep. I have four daughters and this worked for all of them. The sounds they liked were the vacuum cleaner, the sound of the
shower, my voice or my husband talking, singing or reading out loud and The Jefferson theme song. The recording was approximately 30 minutes in length. I have advised several new mothers of this and all agreed it works with their child also.
